“I Am Disappointed”-Bong County Assistant Supt. Speaks Out Against His Boss

-But Superintendent Esther Walker Rubbishes his claims

GBARNGA, Liberia- A rift appears to be continuing between the two top local officials of Bong County in central Liberia, 169 kilometers north east of Monrovia

Mr. Anthony B. Sheriff, Bong County Assistant Superintendent for Development says he is disappointed in the leadership of Superintendent Esther Y. Walker of Bong County.

Assistant Superintendent Sheriff named the singing of contracts and other policy documents single handedly by Walker as a gross disrespect to his office.

However, Superintendent Waker has since vehemently denied her Assistant Superintendent’s allegations.

Madam Walker termed Mr. Sheriff’s claims as a blantan lies and said they are only intended to divide the people of Bong County

Superintendent Walker maintained that the people in the County and the various offices are working together.

According to the Assistant Superintendent, since the reinstatement of Madam Walker, she has and continue to steer the affairs of the County without his consent.

Mr. Sheriff added, “I am disappointed in this lady. We can not wait no longer. Bong County needs to move forward.

This lady is very authority, wants to control and have all. In my mind we can continue running the county this way”.

He named the ongoing controversial Superintendent Compound renovation project as one of several projects singed by Walker and is not in the interest of the County.

The project is currently being done by a company from Grand Bassa County called JEAMCO.

Mr. Sheriff wondered why will his boss be bahaving when the two are to be pushing the agenda of the Coalition for Democratic Change the Pro Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development (PAPD) in the County.

He explained that the constant disrespect by Superintendent Esther Walker continues to undermines the Pro Poor Agenda of President George Manneh Weah in Bong County.

The Bong County official claimed that Superintendent Esther Walker has inducted in office, Kerkulah Kponoqui as the Paramount chief of Yellequlleh District, leaving tears in the face of President George Weah’s appointed Paramount chief Johnny Cooper.

Mr. Johnny Cooper who was appointed in August 2019 by President Weah based on his desire to play more meaningful role in the promotion of peace, reconciliation and tranquility in Yellequlleh District has been replaced by Superintendent Walker.

Mr. Sheriff is meanwhile calling on the Internal Affairs Minister Varney A. Sirleaf to urgently intervene into his concerns before the situation goes off hand.

In separates interview following Sheriff assertioned, several residents of the County have described as disappointing Superintendent Walker alleged inhumane behavior toward her assistant Development Superintendent.

Mary Browne, a resident of the Sugar Hill Community added, “Madam Walker will need to show respect to her principal deputy no matter what the case.

“I strongly believe that this County can not and will not move forward if the two leaders are not working together.If what Sheriff is saying is the true, then Superintendent Walker is proceeding wrongly, “Daniel Singbah, a resident of Cotton Tree Community stated.
