The Head Of The Newly Created Ombudsman Office Jailed In Buchanan, Liberia

For Allegedly Disrespecting The Grand Bassa County Circuit Court

Buchanan, Liberia- A renowned human rights lawyer and current head of the ombudsman office recently set up by President Joseph Boakai, Cllr. Findley Y. Kangar has been jailed on orders of the Second Judicial Resident Circuit Court Judge Joe S. Barkon in Grand Bassa County.

The jailing of Cllr. Kangar was on Tuesday, May 1,2024.

His incarceration for what the court said because he was always allegedly grossly disrespecting Court whenever he has case at that Circuit court.

The human rights lawyer was also jailed for his refusal to honor Court’s precepts, and the taxing of the Bill of Costs in growing out of an ejectment suit in which the Supreme Court ordered the Judge to make a determination.

Cllr Findley Kangar was detained at the Buchanan Central Prison in Buchanan and he is expected to be released today, Thursday, May 2,2024.
