SANNIQUELLIE, Liberia- Internal Affairs Minister Francis Nyumalin has urged Nimba County newly inducted officials headed by Superintendent Kou Mepeah Gono to crush corruption in the Ccunty.
Minister Nyumalin told the County’s new officials here early this week that, the Unity Party government led by President Joseph Boakai has no room for corruption and insincerity.
The Internal Affairs Minister said the government of President Joseph Boakai stands to fight corruption in all sectors in the country.
He maintained that Nimba is not an exception, as such local officials in the county must stop corrupting in their county and Liberia at large.
Minister Nyumalin, who is former Representative of Lofa County, noted that corruption undermines local and national developments which he said the Unity Party intends to fight it vigorously.
The Internal Affairs Minister asserted that integrity is what President Joseph Boakai stands, adding that all his government officials need to serve their people with integrity and diligently.
Minister Nyumalin admonished Superintendent Gono to stair the affairs of Nimba County in consultation with the County chiefs and elders in order to execute her government functions smoothly.
He also wants Superintendent Kou Gono partners with other land ministries and agencies in some key decisions making that will enhance the forward movement of the county and its people.
The Induction Officer alluded to the fact that integrity is the hall marked of the Unity Party of the government.
The Liberia Internal Affairs Minister Nyumalin maintained that the involvement of chiefs and elders in the affairs of the county activities may guarantee and promote transperancy and accountable at the county in driving the county’s developments agenda.
Minister Nyumalin praised the people of Nimba County for supporting the Unity Party led government headed by President Joseph Boakai and Jeremiah Kpan Koung.
“We are grateful to all Nimbains and their zealous efforts in working and accepting all appointed local leaders in the county,” said the Internal Affairs Minister.
The Induction program of the Nimba County officials was held at the Administration Hall in Sanniquellie on Monday, May 13,2024.
