Weah makes more appointments: Profs Tarpeh, Sonii Commerce & Edu Mins

-At least 6 top Sirleaf officials reappointed

President George Weah has made many appointments pending Senate confirmation, with top executives of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) given key posts, while several officials of the former Ellen Johnson regime have been reappointed.

Professors Wilson Tarpeh and Ansu Soni are becoming Commerce and Education Ministers designate, aide to Weah, Patrick Sudue is named as the new Police Inspector General.

CDC Assistant Secretary General, Samora Wollokollie named as Deputy Finance Minister for Fiscal Affairs, CDC executive and former Lofa County Representative Moses Kollie becomes Labour Minister, CDC Youth Wing Chairman Jefferson Koijee becomes Monrovia City Mayor and CDC Secretary General Janga Kowo becomes Comptroller General at the Finance Ministry.

James Henric Pearson, Jr is appointed Director of the National Security Agency (NSA), while Trokon Roberts becomes Director of the presidential elite force, Executive Protection Agency (EPS).

At least five of Sirleaf’s former top officials have been reappointed into their same positions. They are Information Minister Eugene Nagbe, Internal Affairs Minister Varney Sirleaf, GSA Director General Mary Broh, Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) Director General Ledgerhood Rennie and the Managing Director of the Liberia Airport Authority, Bako Freeman and Deputy Health Minister and Liberia’s Chief Medical Office, Dr. Francis Kateh.

Two young female Broadcast Journalists, Estelle Liberty Kemue and Tete Gebro have been appoint as the Deputy LBS Directors designate.
