SANNIQUELLIE, Liberia- Nimba County Scores of Citizens gathered at the OAU now AU Square in Sanniquellie City to welcome the speech of the Liberia, Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung on his first visit to his home country since inauguration on January 22, 2024.
Addressing the Scores of citizens at the AU Square here in the County’s capital, Vice President Koung disclosed that his current visit to Nimba is meant to applaud the people for supporting him during the October 10,2023 General and Presidential Election.
He said he is obligated to appreciate his people of the county for overwhelmingly supporting him.
VP Koung noted that he is very much excited to stand in mixed of Nimbains as Vice President of the Republic of Liberia.
The Liberia’s Vice President indicated that he became the Vice President through the commitment efforts of the people of Nimba.
“Although, all Liberians supported Unity Party quest to the Liberian Presidency, but Nimbains broke the political silence,” said he.
According to VP. Koung, his appreciation visits will cover Nimba’s Three Electoral Districts namely: Gompa City in District#1, Sanniquellie City, in District#2 and Yekepa Concession Community in District#3, Nimba County.
He told the citizens that the political commitment of Nimbains to his endeavor clearly worth commendations.
The VP also disclosed that because his Vice-Presidential supports came from all corns and the religious community, he will use the appreciation opportunity to grace the dedicatory program of the Sanniquellie City Mosque which will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
Vice President Koung told the Nimbains that, while on the first phase of his County-appreciation tour, it is important that Nimbains surely and wholly support the Unity Party led government for unity and integrity.
He disclosed that President Joseph Boakai will pay an official visit to the county to applaud and appreciate Nimbains for their unforgettable political support to the Unity Party led government.
In Sanniquellie, the Vice President visited Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he spoke over an hour underlining some of the political barriers that hit the Unity Party in the October 10, 2023 elections. “Financial shortage in ordering political flyers and running campaigns across Liberia’s 15 Counties were some of political challenges VP. Koung disclosed in the Ebenezer Baptist Church”while speaking to clergymen and citizens.
