US Embassy Gives NEC Liberia Thumbs Up For Democratic Elections Track Record

On the eve of Tuesday’s presidential runoff election, the United States Embassy in Monrovia has given a vote of confidence in the ability of the National Elections Commission (NEC) to conduct credible elections, urging Liberians to turnout to vote and exercise their political franchise.

On its official Facebook page yesterday, Monday, November 13, 2023, the US Embassy posted the following statement:

“Tomorrow, Liberia decides its next president for the next six years. The U.S. Embassy is confident in the National Elections Commission’s ability to ensure a free and fair election.

Thousands of observers, both international and domestic, will oversee the process in an independent and unbiased manner.

We commend the October 10 turnout and urge all Liberians to vote tomorrow. Your voice and vote matter!”
