Doe scores 2, District #11 Opens District League With a 4-2 win against District #13

Benjamin Doe scores twice as District -11 open Montserrado County District League title defense with a 4-2 win against District #13 on Thursday,
11July at the Tusa Field Sports Stadium in Gardnerville.
The Orange National League-1st Division League outfit club LISCR FC player Benjamin Doe clinical brace along with Otalis Sie’s goal in the first half secured a 3-1 halftime win for the regining champions District -11 against District- 13.
Back from the break after with Nicholas Andrew scoring the lone goal in the first half for District- 13 but teams fail to get on the score sheet in the early minutes of the second half until substitute Jarius Holmes registered his name on the score sheet after been introduced into second half from a clinical finish outside the 18-yrd box to give District -11 a 4-1 lead against District -13.
And with less time in the full 90′ minutes plus added time Koko Wleh reduced the score to 4-2, which saw the defending champions District- 11 defeating District -13 4-2 to secure the first three points of the competition.
The 4-2 win for the reigning champions District- 11 against District -13 on Thursday,11 July at the Tusa Field Sports Stadium in Gardnerville marks the first game in this year’s edition of the 2024 LFA Montserrado County District League.
Doe brace in District -11 4-2 win against District- 13 on Thursday,11 July at the venue mentioned above makes him the team highest goal scorer since the start of the competition and moreover sets a record of becoming the third player to score a brace on the opening fixture of the competition.
Terry Sackor and Clement Zubah of District – 7 & District -9 scored a brace in the team’s opening fixture.
District -11 win against District -13 in the opening fixture makes the team grabs top spot of Zone One of the league-table with 3 points from one game.
The reigning champions District 11 next fixture is against District -2 on 15 July at the Tusa Field Sports Stadium in Gardnerville.
In other results, on Thursday,11 July at the same venue District -2 and District – 1 played to a one-all-draw in game one.
At the same time, this year’s edition of the competition kickstarted on Wednesday,10 July at the ATS on the UN Drive with two opening games.
In game one on Wednesday,10 July at the ATS on the UN Drive, District -9 defeated District -10 3-2, while in the final showpiece on Day One District -7 defeated District- 8 4-1 in an away fixture.
At the ATS on the UN Drive on Saturday, 13 July District -14 and District -17 play in game one at 2:00PM while at 4:00PM District -15 and District -16 clash in the final game of the competition to climax the weekend fixture.
The 2024 Montserrado County District League is under the auspices of the Liberia Football Association (LFA).
