The items were formally handed over today, Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at the LNP headquarters.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, Yin Chengwu described the donation as a product of the bilateral engagement between President Xi Jinping of China and President Joseph Nyuma Boakai of Liberia during the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
The Ambassador expressed appreciation to all stakeholders involved in implementing the project, particularly the Liberia National Police and its technical teams, and commended the close cooperation between the LNP and the Chinese Embassy.
Amb. Yin noted that the supplies ranging from uniforms and motorcycles to communication equipment are intended to improve police mobility, communication, operational readiness, and day-to-day performance.

The donated items, he said, will contribute to enhanced public safety and a more secure environment for citizens.
Ambassador Yin further described the handover as a clear demonstration of the growing China–Liberia strategic partnership, highlighting past cooperation in the security sector, including police training programs in China and the dedication of the Fingerprint Examination Laboratory equipment project in 2024.
He expressed optimism that the donation would further deepen bilateral relations and mutual trust.
Receiving the donation, Liberia’s Police Inspector General Gregory O.W. Coleman expressed sincere gratitude to the Government and people of the People’s Republic of China for what he termed a timely and significant contribution.
IGP Coleman described the gesture as a testament to the enduring friendship and cooperation between Liberia and China.
