As the annual National Sports Meet kicks off across Liberia this weekend, Margibi County’s newly appointed tactician, Coach Dahnjudu Sawmadal has released his final squad for the 2025 edition of this national sports tournament.

Coach Sawmadal, who will be making his debut with Margibi County, reportedly named his 20-player squad over a week ago, but it was not disclosed to the public until now, for reasons known only to him and the Margibi Sports Association (MSA).

According to the full listing obtained by this news outlet, the former Bong County coach and former assistant coach of Lofa County selected 20 players from both the first and second divisions.

Notable names on the list include Mary Holder, Princess Boakai, Cynthia Jarmuyah, Sarah Jacobs, Mary Willie, Musu Peters, and Mawein Sackie, among others. Many of the selected players reside in Margibi County, with a few participating in the county’s kickball league.

Coach Sawmadal, famously known as “Didier,” also included several familiar faces who previously played under him during his time with Lofa and Bong Counties. These include God’s Gift James, Mary Partee, Choice Tokpah, and Mary Moses, among others.

Margibi County will open its kickball campaign against Bomi County on Sunday, December 14, followed by a second fixture against host Nimba County on Wednesday, December 17. Their final group-stage match will be played against Sinoe County on December 20, 2025.

The Margibi kickball team has failed to progress to the knockout stage for the past two editions of the tournament and will be hoping for a turnaround under their new coach.
