As the National County Sports Meet begins to gather pace, the management of Mano Oil Palm Plantation has presented a generous cheque of ten thousand United States dollars to both the Bomi and Grand Cape Mount Sports Associations.
The donation is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to support the counties in the group stage of the 2025/2026 edition of the National Counties Sports Meet (NCSM), which is currently being held across the country.
Montgomery Wolo, the Acting General Manager of Mano Oil Palm Plantation, officially presented the cheques at the Company’s main office in Bomi County, during a ceremony attended by officials from both Counties.
He emphasized that this contribution reflects the company’s commitment to supporting sports development as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives.
“We have always supported Bomi and Grand Cape Mount Counties, particularly during the National Counties Sports Meet, and we will continue to do so,” said Wolo during the cheque handover. “This contribution is our way of boosting the morale of the teams as they compete in this prestigious tournament.”
The acting general manager also wished both counties the best of luck as they compete in the ongoing tournament. “We believe in the potential of these teams and their ability to bring pride to their respective counties,” Wolo added. “Mano Oil Palm Plantation will continue to support sports development and help nurture local talent.”
Receiving the cheques on behalf of Bomi County was Varney Alieu Dorley, the county’s finance officer, while Mark Roger, Steering Committee Chair for the Grand Cape Mount Sports Association, received the donation on behalf of his county.
Dorley expressed gratitude for the contribution, noting its positive impact on the Bomi County team. “This support is a huge boost to our athletes and will help us with essential needs as we advance in the competition,” Dorley stated. “We are grateful to Mano Oil Palm Plantation for their continuous support.”
Mark Roger echoed similar sentiments, lauding the company for its generosity. “The donation will have a significant impact on our team’s preparations,” he said. “We assure the company that we are fully committed to advancing to the next stage of the competition.”
Both counties, Bomi and Grand Cape Mount, are drawn in separate zones for the group stage of the National Counties Sports Meet. Despite being in different groups, both counties share a common aspiration: to lift the championship trophy at the end of the competition.
The ongoing National Counties Sports Meet is a highly anticipated event that brings together County teams from across Liberia to compete in various sporting disciplines. With the support of Mano Oil Palm Plantation, Bomi and Grand Cape Mount are now better equipped to face their rivals in the coming matches.
“The Mano Oil Palm Plantation’s contribution is a testament to their commitment to the development of sports at the grassroots level,” said Roger. “We are confident that with this support, our teams will perform even better in the competition.”
The National Counties Sports Meet continues to provide an important platform for local athletes to showcase their talent and gain exposure. Both Bomi and Grand Cape Mount County officials have expressed optimism that their teams will perform well and potentially clinch the coveted trophy.
As the tournament progresses, the management of Mano Oil Palm Plantation has pledged to continue supporting the development of sports, particularly in the counties where the company operates.
“We are always looking for ways to give back to the communities in which we work,” Wolo concluded. “This contribution to the counties’ sports associations is just one of the many ways we show our commitment to the growth and development of our local communities.”
As both counties advance through the competition, their hopes remain high, with Mano Oil Palm Plantation’s continued support playing a crucial role in their journey to the championship.
