Gbarnga, Liberia—Nowadays help is difficult to come for a suckling mother with one child, let alone one who has to cater for three infants at one stretch.

This is the plight of Madam Mami Koytay, who has given birth to triplet in Liberia’s central Bong County.

“Since I went under Surgery on Sunday November 18, 2018 as the result of some complications in my delivery, the Doctors and Nurses here are doing very well but my greatest worry now is how will I find food to eat least to mention these children,” Mamie Koytay, the mother of Triplet is current admitted at the C.B. Dunbar Maternity Hospital in the provincial city of Gbarnga.

“At the moment, I don’t even have money to buy clothes for them or even pay our way from here to Gbarlatuah where we live because my poor husband is a farmer.”

According to Nurses at the Hospital, Mamie was brought to the  hospital  by a Mid- Wife at the Gbarlatuah Clinic who had early told her  she was going to give birth to a child, but following ultrasound at the hospital it was discovered that she had Triplet.

She told www.newspublictrust.com on her sick bed that she and her husband already have four children, three boys and a girl and that the children are not even in school because of the lack of support.

“One of the boys name is George, the girl’s name is Cecelia and still finding name for the other boy.

“My husband and I are kindly appealing to President George Weah, Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor, Deputy Speaker Prince Moye, Superintendent Esther Walker and all officials of Bong County to please help us take care of these children”.

“We are also appealing to people of good will and Institutions such as the Red Cross to help us with clothes, bath and washing soap as well as other materials for these children because we don’t have it”.

Our Reporter said upon arrival at the hospital, two of the children were crying while Mamie was breastfeeding the other.

“They told me to only drink tea because I went under operation just yesterday, but even if they give me the go ahead to eat at the moment, where will I get food from?

“Anybody who wants to help us can just contact the hospital administration, because my husband and I don’t even have cell phones”.

Hospital sources did not say when exactly Mamie will be discharged from the hospital because such decision will depend on her degree of recovery.
