Supreme Court Final Ruling Goes Against House “Majority Bloc”–Says Speaker Koffa’s Removal Unconstitutional

TEMPLE OF JUSTICE, Monrovia- With one Justice giving dissenting opinion, the full bench of the Supreme Court of Liberia has ruled in favour of embattle House of Representative Speaker, Cllr. Fonati Koffa, describing the action of the “Majority Bloc” as unconstitutional.

The “Majority Bloc” has therefore been mandated to comply with the ruling of the highest court in the land.

Associate Justice Yarmie Gbeisay was the only one of the 5-member bench who had dissenting opinion.

In its ruling today, Wednesday, April 23, 2025, the Court ruled in favour of Koffa’s Bill of Information:

During a heated argument into the Bill of Information filed by the embattled Speaker J. Fonati Kofa, The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia, Sie-A-Nyene G. Yuoh on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 told the “Majority bloc” lead lawyer, Cllr. H.
