Another Liberian Journalist, Timothy Seaklon Being Laid To Rest Saturday

The burial of the second Liberian Journalist to die this month, Timothy T. Seaklon takes place near Monrovia later today, Saturday, September 28, 2024.

Ahead of his funeral, the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) on Friday, September 27 opened a Book of Condolence for fallen Liberian journalist, Seaklon, at the Union’s Headquarters on Clay Street.

That occasion gave Journalists, friends, family members and Sympathizers the opportunity to memorialize him.

Funeral service over his remains take place at the Trinity United Methodist in the Borough of New Kru Town on Bushrod Island in the suburb of Monrovia

Journalist Seaklon died on Wednesday, September 4, at the Redemption Hospital following a heart attack. Just days later, another Journalist, Fidel Saydee, Station Manager of ABC Radio also died after a period of illness and was buried last Saturday.

In a press release on Thursday, the PUL Interim Committee said the shocking demise of the former Independent Inquirer Managing Editor leaves a vacuum in the media community.

Before his death, Mr. Seaklon served as Managing Editor of the Independent Inquirer newspaper. Prior to that he was Editor of the Inquirer Newspaper for several years.
