Augustine Ngafuan Awaits Senate Confirmation, As Pres. Boakai Nominates Him Finance Min.

Recent speculations made in some cycles have come to pass, as the Executive Mansion has announced that President Joseph Nyumah Boakai has nominated Agustine Kpehe Ngafuan as Minister of Finance and Development Planning.

Mr. Ngafuan, who served in the first Unity Party government of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has lately served as Country Manager for the African Development Bank in Uganda.

His nomination on Thursday, August 28, 2024 was part of a number of additional appointments in government.

If confirmed, Mr. Ngafuan will be the second Finance Minister in the Boakai government which took office just over seven months ago, replacing Boimah Kamara who reportedly resigned recently.

Executive Mansion, Monrovia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has made additional appointments in government affecting the Ministry of Finance & Development Planning, National Bureau of Veteran Affairs, Public Procurement & Concessions Commission (PPCC), National Commission on Disabilities (NCD), and the National Commission on Higher Education (NCHE).
