After being in her Washington post for just four month, Liberia’s Ambassador to the United States, Cllr. Loise Brutus has been replaced by President George Manneh Weah.
Brutus, who previously served as Liberian Ambassador to South Africa, was commissioned by former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in early November last year.
But an Executive Mansion today (Monday) announced the appointment of Gurly T. Gibson as Liberian Ambassador-United States of America.
Brutus replaced Ambassador Jeremiah Sulonteh, who stepped down to pursue his political career later becoming running mate to former Coca Cola Executive Alexander Cummings of the Alternative National Congress (ANC) in the 2017 presidential elections,
During her commissioning, ex-President Sirleaf commended Cllr. Brutus for demonstrating commitment and efficiency at previous assignments.
In response the now short-term Liberian Ambassador to the US Brutus then said:
“Today marks the beginning of a new journey, I pledge my allegiance to the Republic of Liberia and assure you, Madam President with God being my helper, I will do my best and not disappoint you.”
At the same time, President Weah has replaced the President of the Tubman University, appointing Dr. Wreh Wilson as the new President of the institution, while appointing a Christian cleric, Bishop J. Allen Kaylee as Chairman-Board of the Board of the Liberia Airport Authority.
The outgoing President of Tubman University is Dr. Edward Lama Wonkeryor.
Former Speaker Emmanuel Nuquay was recently confirmed by the Liberian Senate as Director of the Liberia Airport Authority.
