One time president of the Liberia Association of Gospel Musical Artists (LAGMA), Mother Heidy Paye stands as the lone presidential candidate, with an ardent hope and commitment to restore the dignity of the association an  d lift all gospel artists to prosperity.

Mother Heidy Paye with a team of contestants outlined three pillars on which her leadership intends to revamp and direct the affairs of LAGMA.

The pillars are: Spiritual renewal, restoration of dignity and prestige of artists and their umbrella organization (LAGMA), regional and global exposure, and credibility which entails transparency and accountability.

If she wins the elections of March 2nd, the Heidy Paye leadership will inherit the burden of reconciling members of the Liberia Association of Gospel Musical Artists and reawaken the dormant mode of LAGMA mainly necessitated by long wave of conflicts and disunity.

The outgoing President of LAGMA, Ms. Delphine Morris confirmed in a phone call that she had received only one application for the office of president up to the deadline of February 11, 2019.

Many artists who are members in right standing said Mother Heidy Paye, judging from her past administration is a suitable candidate to reform and shift LAGMA to its rightful state. Renowned “Speak Lord” Artist, Abigail Vinton who served in the previous leadership of Mother Heidy Paye confirmed that Mother Paye is capable, focused and God-fearing to lead the association from its state of confusion and retrogression to nobility.

“Her first administration built for LAGMA a decent world-class website that was not maintained by her successors and bought a parcel of land to be used as headquarters for LAGMA. Since then, nothing significant had happened in LAGMA after 8 years”, Artist Vinton revealed.

Under her campaign, she anticipates to be elected alongside Pastor Zlanner Pertean as Vice President for Administration, Minister Patricia Aroniyo as Vice President for Operation, Minister Kenneth D. Nsiah as General Secretary and Pastor Queweah as Finance Secretary.

The Liberia Association of Gospel Musical Artists (LAGMA) was established on March 5, 1995 out of concerted efforts by ELWA Radio and other gospel artists intended to promote the work and ministries of local gospel musicians.

It began challenged of late until the founding fathers converged and initiated a constitutional reform that now leads to general elections on Saturday, March 2, 2019.
