NIMBA, Liberia- The leadership of the Doldeh Movement in the northeastern Nimba County have condemned and strongly described the brutal stabbing which resulted to the death of Mr. Aloysius G. Bahn, a staunch member of the Movement since 2008.

But the Movement has also called on the family of Mr. Bahn to remain calm and peaceful, while the issue is being looked into.

The area is situated some 350 kilometers from the Liberian capital, Monrovia.

In a press release, the Doldeh Movement described the reported killing as a heartless act of insanity calculated and perpetrated by monstrous elements who have no heart, conscience and sense of reasoning, something which is also condemned by the Movement’s sympathizers across Liberia.

“Mr. Aloysius G. Bahn was maliciously, purposefully and dangerously stabbed by two sons of Mr. Baccus Sayeh, cousin of Jeremiah Kpan Koung, Vice Standard Bearer of the Unity Party in Vayenglay Town, Soe Chiefdom, Twah River Administrative District, Nimba County, over simple political argument,” the press release said.

The chairperson of the Movement Dempster Vonleh expressed dismay and frustration over what he termed as “the inhumane monstrosity with which the killers of Bahn viciously ended his life”.

According to the Movement, the leader of the movement, Atty. Garrison D. Yealue and his family are troubled by this unfortunate situation, as the alleged killers are being frantically pursued.

Atty, Yealue, who is also Chairman of the Governance Commission, is said to have promised to do all within his means to ensure that all the perpetrators involved in the gruesome will be apprehended and made to face justice.

The Movement notes that the exercise of calmness in a matter like this where a loving member of a family is killed out of what it terms as stupidity can be a grievous situation to handle.

Meanwhile, the Movement is calling on the Liberia National Police to vigorously launch a manhunt for the killers of Mr. Bahn, so that they are made to answer for their crime.

“We are calling on the Liberian National Police to investigate the killing of our comrade. We are also calling on all well-meaning Nimbaians to rally forces, join efforts and build grassroots surveillance, especially along the border lines between Liberia and Cote dIvoire, with the purpose of instituting citizens’ arrest for the suspects who are cowardly running into hiding,” said the chairperson of the Doldeh Movement.

Observers think that tensions sparked by the recent killing could rise further, if investigation is not speedy up in order to bring the killers to justice, as the October 10 elections campaign intensifies.
