Fallen Senator Geraldine Doe Sheriff to be laid to rest this week

-GOL Announces Funeral Arrangements

The Government of Liberia has released the funeral arrangements for the late Senator of Montserrado County, Geraldine Doe Sheriff of the 54thNational Legislature of the Republic of Liberia.

The Book of Condolence for the late Honorable Doe Sheriff was opened in the Rotunda of the Capitol Building on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, March 12th, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and Wednesday, March 13th, from 10:00am to 4:00p.m.

On Thursday, March 142019, the remains of the late Senator Doe-Sheriff, will be removed from the Samuel A. Stryker Funeral Parlors in Sinkor and taken to the Capitol Building to lie in State at 10 O’clock ante meridian. Afterwards, the body will be returned to the Funeral Parlors.

The release also disclosed that on Friday, March 15, 2019, the wake keeping of the late Honorable Senator will be held at the sister of the deceased in Congo Town from 6:00pm to 12 midnight.

On Saturday, March 16, 2019, the body of the late Senator of Montserrado County will be removed from the Samuel A. Stryker Funeral Parlors at 8:30 ante meridian and conveyed to the Sacred Heart Cathedral on Broad Street, Monrovia for one hour of Wake-Keeping from 10 O’clock ante meridian to 11 O’clock ante meridian.  

The Government of Liberia further announces that on Saturday, March 16th, funeral rites will be said over the remains of the late Honorable Geraldine Doe Sheriff at the same venue beginning 11 O’clock ante meridian and will be followed by interment at the Kaizer Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Brewerville, Montserrado County.

As a mark of last respect and tribute to the late Senator of Montserrado County of the 54th National Legislature of the Republic of Liberia, the President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah, has declared a period of mourning during which time the national ensign of the Republic will be flown at half-mast from all public buildings in Montserrado County on Friday, March 15, 2019 and on the day of Interment, Saturday, March 16, 2019.
