A man, age 43 identified as Varney Gbelay has allegedly been gruesomely murdered on the Daniel highway and Daniel town is in Garwula District #2 in Grand Cape Mount County, Western Liberia.
According to the report gathered by this paper, the deceased Gbelay was hired by Varney Zodua to underbrush his farm land. But the deceased and other farmers usually sleep in their respective farm kitchen and return to town on Wednesday for the regular market day.
The report said, the late Gbeley can usually be hired by people in the to bush their farm or burn coal for them for pay and he hailed from Bomi County in search of better living condition since two year and he was hosted by what is called “stranger father” known as Folley Kamara.
It was disclosed that the deceased, Gbeley was discovered in an old 2019 farm kitchen where he usually slept, with his left ear cut off. The hair on the back of his hair was shaved and his flesh was also removed. Also on his ankle, two of his big vein were cut off and blood drained from his body.
From where the incident occurred it is just less than five-minute walk from the Kingjor highway.
It is reported that the rest of the farmers who have their kitchen near the victim said they didn’t hear or see the gruesome killing of Gbelay.
After he was discovered dead, a 15-man jury was set to examine the corpse and it was reported that there was foul play.
The District Platform for Dialogue head Melvin B. Kamara said they are immediately calling on National government to bring to book the perpetrator of the killing immediately, because it is not the first of its kind in Grand Cape Mount county.
Recently, two-year-old child went missing and he is yet to be found. This was followed by the discovery of 70-year-old woman who was discovered dead in a swamp after she went missing for some time.
Some locals complain that when such things happen investigations are endless.
Meanwhile, four persons are
currently going through investigation by the Liberia National Police.
They are John B. Pratt owner of the old rice farm kitchen where the deceased
Gbelay was using to sleep, Bob Marlay whose kitchen is adjacent to the

brush his farm.
