Maryland County To Benefit From A Technical And Vocational Training Center

HARPER, Liberia- As many young people in Maryland County lacked jobs employment opportunities and Technical skills, the United Nation Industrial Organization (UNIDO) is expected to construct a Technical Training and Vocational Training Center in Harper City, Maryland County for Young Liberians in this southeastern county.

The disclosure was made earlier this week (March, 22, 2021) during the Youth Rising Vocational Center and High school Debate Competition in Harper City, Maryland County by Mr. T Mark Korpu.

“I am indeed delighted to kindly inform you that a Vocational Center and Training institution that will create an employment opportunities for Young Liberians will be built here in Harper City, Maryland County,” Mr: Korpu told reporters.

According to the Communication and Social media expert of the United Nation Industrial Organization (UNIDO), the project started in Liberia 2018, and was founded by the European Union.

“The process of the Vocational Center and Training institution started already in other Counties, therefore, Maryland County construction activities will start shortly.”

UNIDO is working in partnership with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sport in Liberia.

Mr: Korpu disclosed that the important of the Technical Training and Vocational School is to create employment opportunities for Young people in Liberia, at the same time he called on citizens and residents of Maryland County to take advantage of Vocational School in order for  self-employment.

He used the occasion to encourage every young Liberians to take advantage of Vocational Center and Training institution, in order to reduce the unemployment rate in Liberia.

He was speaking during an interviewed with team of Journalists in Maryland County.
