The Buffalo Mass Shootings targeting Blacks underscores why President Biden and Vice President Harris need to visit the enduring fruits of the American nightmare of officially sanctioned racism and the ongoing risk to the United States. Americans are unaware of the source of racism; the tremedous harm unleashed against generations of Americans banished by Congress because of the color of their skin- the first American Apartheid Law-March 26, 1790-” only white persons can be citizens” initiated unmitigated racism.

This is our 2nd invitation to President Biden and V.P. Harris with open arms for a two-night stay at poverty-stricken West Point, Monrovia, Liberia-a colony established by US taxes and facilitated by the US Navy-a place unfit for human habitation as well as the poorest Indian Reservation in South Dakota, USA, Pine Ridge, created by American racism. Upon arrival, both President Biden and VP. Harris are urged to confess America’s sins of officially sanctioned racism that was envisioned, conceived, weaponized, and unleashed against the ancestors of Americans at these localities, (Americans of color) who were removed, banished, forgotten, and abandoned in plain sight for centuries by acts of the government of the United States. The congressional acts in question are no longer on the books but the harm unleashed centuries ago remains unmitigated and the harm continues to ravage lives unabated.

This represents the source of the inspiration for hate and racism for centuries and counting! Yet the President, and members of Congress who haven’t spent a night at Pine Ridge or West Point, have rushed to Ukraine to show compassion, forgetting the old saying; “Charity begins at home.”

Every time there is a mass shooting  American politicians, Republicans & Democrats including President Biden and members of Congress repeat the same empty rhetoric that has never worked: “We’ll get tough on crimes”, “I feel your pain”, “I condemn this wicked act of barbarism, “ Let’s have tough gun laws” and “ We need tough hate crime legislation,” bla-bla-bla. Meanwhile, the Americans, Black, and white victims are dead, gone forever and their family members carry open incurable wounds for the rest of their lives.

The Bureau of Justice Statistics reckons that the United States spends more than $80 billion each year to keep roughly 2.3 million people behind bars. The culprits are punished but expensive punishments haven’t worked when it comes to the behavior of racism, and hate. Here is why punishment doesn’t work. America, with only 332 million people, has over 2 million people in prisons, far higher than China with 1.4 billion people with only 1.7 million prisoners. Are Americans the worst sinners in the whole world? Not at all! After wasting billions of dollars America needs to try healing and atonement for its racial woes instead of focusing only on an expensive solution of punishment or the political blame game that has not worked. Instead of blaming the criminals, or other politicians, Americans must unite in calling for a national healing initiative for public confession, repentance, initiation of restitution, reparation, and a fresh start on a new journey of national reconciliation by welcoming generations of Americans removed, banished and forgotten by racist policies.

After his election on November 4, 2020, President-Elect Biden proclaimed “It’s time to unite and heal America.” Doubtless, the (divided) United States became the richest nation on Earth founded on the land of disenfranchised Native Americana and fueled by the labor of African Americans, many of whom were removed and banished from their native land because of the color of their skins by American officially sanctioned racism. Even so, unmitigated officially sanctioned racism under President Biden, a Democrat, and Trump, a Republican has kept Liberian Refugees on a death sentence -in the USA, in snowstorms and covid-19 pandemic, without access to humanitarian assistance or permits to work for eight years, without justifications, the Liberian Refugee Immigration Fairness Act and President Biden’s DED Executive Order, notwithstanding. While Black Liberian refugee women and children suffer in America, white refugees from Ukraine arriving less than two months ago and Afghans arriving less than one year ago are allowed to access humanitarian assistance and permits to work. Congress, which has proven unwilling to pass childcare bills for Americans, has approved $40 billion in military aid to Ukraine.

Because of the stolen land and labor, America owes trillions of dollars in damages to Native Americans and Liberians for the ravages of American racism, colonization and atrocities. Yet, we must look forward, not backwards. That is why, consistent with Article 1 of the Liberian Constitution of 1824, which is still in force, all Liberians must be allowed free access to the USA and also granted access to all privileges and opportunities enjoyed by citizens of the United States of America. According to the law written by white men who were racists and high ranking officials of the United States,“All persons born in Liberia are entitled to all privileges enjoyed by citizens of the United States.” Yes, President Biden said, “It’s time to heal and unite America.” The election is over, it’s time for bold leadership. Now is the time for action, because “action speaks louder than words”! Mr. President, It’s time for Confession, Repentance, Reparations, and national reconciliation! “Confession is good for the soul” & “Charity begins at home.”
