Rainbow Alliance Launches Framework Document, Ahead Of 2023 Elections

The National Executive Committee of the Rainbow Alliance has officially launched its framework document to the public that will govern the institution.

The Rainbow Alliance which is comprises of seven registered political parties was certificated by the National Election Commission on August 31, 2020 and has since worked in concert with other political institutions in Liberia.

The seven political parties are Movement for Economic Empowerment, Redemption Democratic Change Ture Whig Party, Union of Liberia Democcrats, Victory for Change Party, Vision for Liberia Transformation and Democratic Justice Party.

The framework document which includes the constitution, By-Law and Code of conduct are intended to be a working too to govern the activities of the Rainbow Alliance as prescribe procedures for the inclusion of other political parties.

Speaking on Tuesday July 27, 2021 at the program in Monrovia’s Paynesville suburb, the Interim Chairman of the Alliance Reginald B. Goodridge, Sr, said the framework document is intended to prepare the Alliance when it takes state power.

Goodridge, who is the National Chairman the True Whig Party, explained that the purpose of the Alliance shall be the promotion of capable leadership, National Unity and good citizenship at the local and national levels and the fostering of political inclusiveness.

The Rainbow Alliance official is however calling on the media, opposition political parties, Stakeholders and well-meaning Liberians to increase its pressure on government for the conduct of the three by-elections in the country.

According to Mr. Goodridge, failure of    government to conduct these by- elections, the 2023 elections will be in serious problem due to the inability of government to handle such issue.

For his part, the National Chairman of the Movement for Economic Empowerment and Program Chair Dean T. Saryee noted that Liberia is in dying need for Leadership something he said is destroying the country.

According to him, the Alliance is ready and prepared to provide the needed to solutions to the many problems faced by the Liberian people.

“We already have the answer to the many problems, and I believe as a group of political parties will do all we can to rescue the country,” he added.

In remarks, the Vice Chairman for administration of the National Democratic Coalition Ciapha Saah Gbollie thanked members of the group but urged them to fully respect the document at all times in order to move Liberia forward.

He observed that Liberia as a nation is being disgraced on the daily basis as a result of the inability of President Weah to properly govern the contrary and its people.

The NDC Chairman accused President Weah George Weah and his officials of being looters and Liberians are losing respect day by day.

This is the characterization that Weah and his CDC government has rejected after similar claim by their critics in over a period.
