The National Chairman of the ruling CDC, Mulbah Morlu has directed all CDCians to “return to the trenches” in readiness for the nomination of President Weah to contest the second term in the 2023 elections, as the Party’s new Secretary General Jefferson Koijee alleges that the opposition is planning street protest.

The venue for the nomination ceremony has been transferred from the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville to the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia, Mr. Morlu said.

According to him, the party has met the benchmark of 30 percent females set by the National Elections Commission for each political party. But this is yet to be independently confirmed.

“We heard that one of the political parties selected seven women, but we elected eight women to the national executive committee.”

Mr. Morlu explained that eight out of the 30 position were won by females   on the national executive commission of the CDC during the national convention.

Meanwhile, the new National Secretary General of the Congress for Democratic Change has uncovered an alleged plan by Ambassador Louis Brown to incite the populace in to a nationwide riot against the Liberian government.

Mr. Koijee made the claim when the 7th national convention committee of the Congress for Democratic Change presented the newly elected and inducted members of the national executive committee of the CDC to partisans in Congo Town Wednesday.

The program was held at the conference room of the CDC, was graced by a cross-section of the partisans including members of the national executive committee, county chairmen, zonal heads, among many others.

However, efforts to contact Louis Brown, the Chairman of Cummings Campaign Team, proved futile as his phone rang endlessly without answer and he did not reply to text sent him by this Reporter up to press time.

Jefferson Koijee, who is also the Mayor of the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC), said his claim was based on intelligence report he received few hours before making the plan public.

“During the meeting,” Mr. Koijee went on to claim that Louis Brown discussed plans to recruit 2,000 coordinators and each has been mandated to bring 50 persons, who will be paid five United States Dollars, to form part of the nationwide protest.”

According to Mr. Koijee, the protest, under the code name: “We Liberians Are Tired Suffering,” will begin on the 16th of December and will eventually increase to similar protest as the 1979 Rice Riot.”

“To Mr. Brown, he thinks that he was holding discussion with their partisans but they are our intelligence deployed to keep us informed about his sinister motive.”

“Now , we want to warn our friends at the Alternative National Congress never to allow this stranger to use the ANC as a spring board to bring war bin this country,”  he said.

According to Mr. Koijee, Mr. Cummings has never used tribal politics since he declared his intension for the presidency in 2017.

“It was Louis Brown who is introducing Mr. Cummings to tribal politics,” he said; adding: “there are some Grebo people who are business people and members of clergy and they will not want to join politics.”

“If all the tribes become loyal to their kinsmen, there is a possibility that we will resolve to war one day; but I know that Liberians will never return this country to its ugly past.”
