There is an outpouring of excitement on the streets of the Liberian capital, Monrovia Thursday evening, after news emerged that George Weah, the presidential candidate of the main opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) has won most of the votes tallied so far in Tuesday’s runoff election.
Supporters of Weah are singing and chanting in praise of the former international footballer-turned politician.
