TEMPLE OF JUSTICE, Monrovia- The Liberia National Police (LNP) spokesperson has been dragged to the Monrovia City Court by his legal-wedded wife, Peso Carter for allegedly abandoning her and persistent non-support.

Spokesman Moses Carter and his wife were invited for a conference on Monday, pending outcome of another conference slated for September 13, 2021.

This is the latest in a series of marital feud involving prominent Liberian personalities that have entered the courtroom in recent months.

According to Mrs. Carter, she and her husband have been together for seventeen solid years but has reportedly abandoned his home and moved to an American girlfriend house whom he claimed his wife to be.

But when contacted by Reporters early on Monday about the allegations made against him by his wife, Mr. Carter burst into laughter and said “no comment”.

Speaking to Journalists in tears at the Temple of Justice, Mrs. Carter said, their union was blessed with a single boy child. But Mr. Carter has had another child (female) outside of their marriage.

She thought Mr. Carter would change or bring the outside child home, but she claimed that no respect has been shown to her.

Mrs. Carter also claimed that her husband American girlfriend was coming to Liberia, saying that Mr. Carter allegedly sent armed robbers to her house to kill her and her son, in order to have a free will of his American girlfriend but the robbers didn’t succeed.

Mrs. Carter that added since her husband left the home, he usually visits the house and always threatens to use his power to jail anyone he sees there.

At one point in time, she explained that she was manhandled and jailed for a day on orders of Police spokesman Carter, in the wake of what she called, his new relationship.

Police Spokesman later make Facebook post

However, after earlier declining to comment on the issue, Police spokesman Moses Carter later took to his Facebook page that he had earlier chosen to remain silent, as it is a personal issue, though he later gave a rather lengthy explanation.

“Clarity on news report on allegation of Persistent Non-support from my wife, Peso Grimes Carter

I initially thought of remaining silent on this matter and protect the sanctity and dignity of my wife and family. It’s a known fact that most of us are faced with issues in our homes but choose to handle them indoor instead of using the Press.

Today, Spoon TV reported that my wife, Peso G. Carter dragged me to court for persistent non suppport and other claims. When I was called for response, I chose to remain silent and not discuss my domestic issues in the Press.

As it stands, I still main my position of not doing anything to damage the image of my wife irrespective of the issues we are going through. She has a future that has to be protected and I will do nothing to damage that great future of hers and my child, Moses Carter, Jr.

For the record, since meeting my wife over the last years, I don’t record a month that I took my salary and never reported it to her. Whenever I collect my salary, I immediately turn it over to her and this has been something that I have done until this immediate present.

The issues my wife and I are going through are personal and as such, I have chosen not to discuss them in the media. I will maintain such decision even if the worst is said about me. I will seek to continue protecting the image of my wife during these moments of our lives.

There are those of you out there who understand the kind of person I am in terms of taking care of my family. There are also those of you out there who are interested in hearing the worst about me given the public office I occupy at the Liberia National Police.

In all of this, I know there are some of you who will never just hear something and take it at face value but will hear from the other side.

This too shall come and pass!”

Meanwhile, the matter is expected to continue on Tuesday September 13, 2021 for another conference.
