2 Commercial Court Judges Defy Chief Justice Ad Hoc Judge Appointment?

 A leaked communication written to Chief Justice Francis S Korkpor from Judge Roosevelt Z. Willie of Criminal court ‘A’ complaining the alleged defiant behavior of two Judges toward his (Willie’s) appointment as an Ad Hoc Judge to serve as a penal on the case involving Monrovia Oil Trading Company (MOTC) and Majority Shareholder of Ducor Petroleum Company of Mr. Amos Brosius.

Judge Willie was appointed by Chief Justice Francis S. Korkpor to serve as an Ad Hoc judge to complete the full panel of the commercial Court and make determination into the case involving the Monrovia Oil Trading Company (MOTC) and Majority Shareholder in the Ducor Petroleum headed by Mr. Amos Brosius in an action Petition for Accountant.

The two Judges who are allegedly defying the Chief Justice Appointment are Chan-Chan Paegar and Othello S. Payman.

Judge Willie communication quotes subsequent to the communication from the  Chief Justice and urgency attached to the said case, I wrote the Chief Judge of the Commercial Court, Her Honor Eva Mappy Morgan on May 27,2021, requesting for the following to enable me get an insight of the case.

“Notwithstanding your assurance and my various communications, I have not yet received any communication and/or the file concerning the case as herein above stated,” the leaked communication says.

The communication further states that the entire file of the case containing every and all pleadings to include, Pre-trial motions and Ruling if any;. Copy of the statue, establishing the Commercial Court; Any other relevant information that will enable me perform this assignment professionally.

“It should be noted that copied of my communication to her Honor Eva Mappy Morgan were to you (Chief Justice Korkpor),” the communication adds.

“Following my communication of May 27, 2021, her Honor Eva Mappy Morgan replied the same day, informing he(Judge Willie) that as the records showed has rescued herself from the case since August 2018 and therefore informed he( Judge Willie) to proceed to contact Associate Chan-Chan Paegar and Othello S. Payman on any and all issues pertaining to therein mentioned matter and thereafter copied them both but both Judges have been defiant,” Judge Willie says.

The Criminal Court A Judge also says in his communication that he expected the commercial Court Judges to have acted on his communication on or before June 1, 2021, since this was the date he prayed for to her Honor Eva Mappy Morgan to have acted.

Unfortunately, when he didn’t hear from her, he wrote another communication dated June 2, 2021, reminding the two Judges of the communication from him and that of her Honor Eva Mappy Morgan and asked them to kindly act on or before June 4, 2021.

“Therefore, and to protect my reputation, and the urgency to the communication from the Chief Justice concerning this case, he is now constrained to send a carbon copy (cc) of said communication to the Chief Justice for his information and he also look forward to hearing from the Chief Justice concerning his communications of May 27, 2021 and June 2, 2021 respectively,” Judge Willie’s communication says.

But Judge Eva Mappy Morgan told www.newspublictrust.com  that she had written asking the two Judges to make the files available to Judge Willie. Report by Garmah Never Lomo, garmahlomo@gmail.com
