The Clar Marie Weah Events Hall, owned and operated by the Center for National Documents and Records Agency (CNDRA) has been opened to the public for official business activities.
It was formally inaugurated by the Office of the First Lady of the Republic of Liberia, on Monday, July 4, 2022, at the National Archives central office located on 12th Street, Sinkor, in Monrovia, a press release says.
James K. Kortu, Jr, Director of Administration, Office of the First Lady Republic of Liberia, represented the mother of the nation, Her Excellency, Clar Marie Weah, at the official dedication ceremony.
He said the construction and dedication of the modern facility would primarily alleviate the difficulties couples faced in hosting their wedding ceremonies and other activities.
He indicated that the event hall, which is the first of its kind in the history of the agency, will add more values to the services been offered at the National Archives thereby promoting the Pro Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development.
According to him, the momentous feat indeed demonstrates the results of a developmental oriented leadership under this administration.
“DG Emmanuel A. Lomax, the First Lady applauds you for your exemplary leadership and the team spirit, working with this wonderful group of Liberians within the employ of your institution to make such a remarkable progress. Your leadership reminds me of a favorite verse in the Bible, which says “he who is faithful in a little thing is faithful also in much” Director Kortu said.
CnDRA Director General, Emmanuel A. Lomax commended the First Lady of the Republic of Liberia for standing by the National Archives to have the project completed.
“Our political slogans should be enshrined in the works that we do as officials of government,” he said.
CNDRA Director General stated that the Clar Marie Weah Events Hall is the best place to hold your meeting events, cocktail dinners, conferences, product launches, training sessions, large social events, important life events like weddings, engagements, graduations, birthdays, bridal Showers, personal events and ECT.
Mr. Lomax has meanwhile, disclosed that “We are going to build another repository at the National Archives of Liberia for the preservation of historical documents of the country”.
