(Last Updated On: )

In the wake of mounting pressure for an independent inquest into the disappearance of 16 billion Liberian dollars from containers brought into the country, the Justice Ministry has invited the United States FBI, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other local civil society groups to join ongoing government probe.

In a press release issued on Wednesday and signed by Justice Minister, Cllr. F. Musa Dean, the government says the latest move is in response to public call “for greater transparency, independence and inclusion in the ongoing investigations.”

The Liberian Council of Churches and the National Muslim Council of Liberia have also been included in the inquest.
