The LDEA Commander is calling on Citizens to cooperate and support State Security in the County in tracking down Criminals, illegal drugs dealers and its users to ensure their Safety, as citizens are living in Communities, cities, Towns and Districts were these Criminals Reside.
Commander Tageddine stressed the need for the locals to help the security forces in fighting crimes.
He wants people in Maryland County give tipoff/information to the officers of Liberia National Police (LNP), Liberia Immigration Services (LIS) Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA)Emergency Response Unit (ERU) Police Support Unit ( PSU)and National Fire Services of Liberia (NFS) .
Special Agent Joseph Tageddine was assigned as Commander of the LDEA in Maryland County in March this by authorities at the Headquarters head the LDEA Team, replacing its Former Commander David C. Togba who was reassigned.
Since he became Joint Security Commander in this area, Mr. Tageddine si said to have been on top of his game, working day and night in helping to keep the area save by saving lives and properties.
Also, since he took over as the Commander of the LDEA in Maryland County, the Drug Enforcement Agency has made several arrests of illic drugs traffickers and users from neighboring Ivory Coast.
They have since been forwarded to the Harper City Magisterial Court for prosecution or trial.
In April of this year, two Students of Tubman University were arrested from the New Kru Town Community in a Residential Gap with Fifteen grams of Heroin valued at fourteen thousand Liberian dollars. They are Raymond Boima and Sylvester Tuodie.
Commander Tageddine says the Detachment of the LDEA lacks Logistics, which include vehicles and adequate manpower.
He said the LDEA in Maryland has just two Motorbikes, which makes it difficult for the smooth operations in the County.
In an interview with www.newspublictrust.com recently, the LDEA Commander pleaded for support.
“I’m appealing to the, Maryland County Legislative Caucus ,Maryland County Local Authority ,Partners In Health, Maryland Oil Palm Plantation, Cavalla Rubber Cooperation , Ministry of Justice and the Government of Liberia and its partners to provide one Vehicles and Additional Men power to enable active night patrol in Harper and others parts of the County.”
He added that is risky carrying narcotic drugs dealers and other criminals on Commercial Motorbikes, because these Motorcyclists can sometimes escape with either the drugs or the Criminals and the LDEA Team in that Area would be held reliable .
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of Joint Security and Commander LDEA disclose that 24 hours of Security services has been activated or restored at the one or two check points in Philadelphia Township, outside of the Maryland County capital, Harper that links Liberia to the Ivory Coast.
