Jurors Find The Child’s Own Father And Uncle Guilty Of Murder

Months ago, little Momo Saah’s lifeless body was discovered in Dowien District, Bomi County with parts extracted, after his killers had murdered him in cold blood for ritualistic purpose, but this week justice was served.

On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, Jurors at 11th Judicial Circuit Court in Bomi’s capital city, Tubmanburg found the slain 2-year-old boy’s father and uncle guilty of butchering him.

The court presided over by resident Circuit Court Judge by Siafa Carey.

The Jurors’ guilty verdict was handed down after the final argument and their final deliberation.

Little Momo’s uncle, Momo Gray on May 10,2023 pleaded guilty to the crime of murder, after his appearance at the 11th Judicial Circuit Court while the father of the boy, Siaffa Gray pleaded not guilty.

The 2-year-old boy, Momo Saah was allegedly slaughtered by his own relatives and six persons were arrested initially. But four were released on grounds that they have no connection to murdering of the boy and held the uncle and father of the boy whom are currently facing trial.

The two defendants were indicted during the February A.D. term of court by the ground jury of Bomi County for the crime of murder.

Despite his guilty plea, state prosecutors said they would put aside and go into the case to produce evidence against him.

The case commenced on the 10th of May 2023.

During the trial proceedings, state prosecutors produced three general witnesses and rebuttal witness while the defendants testified in their own behalf.

Testifying on his own behalf last Friday, May 19,2023, at the 11th Judicial Circuit Court court, defendant Momo Gray, the uncle of the deceased, admitted of murdering the two-year-old Momo Saah. But alleged that he acted upon the order of the boy’s mother due to the current economy hardship she’s facing.

Also testifying on his own behalf, the father of the deceased pleaded not guilty but provided conflicting statements contrary to what police charged he of while on the direct examination testifying.

It can be recalled in late January of this year, six persons were arrested by the Liberia National Police in Zealay Town, Dowien Distrct for allegedly killing little Momo Saah.

The Liberia National Police arrested a uncle of a two year old boy who was allegedly butchered and extracted parts in Bomi County including five other persons were initially undergoing police investigation in connection to the death of the boy whose body parts including his right leg, right hand, right eye and private parts were extracted in Zealey Town, Bomi County.

Those arrested by then are Momo Gray, Siaffa Gray Cooper Ross, Satta Wonda, mother of the deceased and Omacy Nyei.

Police initial report revealed that the mutilated parts of little child were found in possession of the grandfather of the victim.

Police preliminary investigation established that the suspects committed said act based on financial gains, therefore they are presently at the headquarters of the Liberia National Police undergoing probe.

However, the police is investigating three suspects for their alleged involvement into the death of a 21 years-old  dentified as Christian Somah on January 19.

Suspects Yakuba Sheriff 42, Layee Kamara 16, Sumaila Keita 15 all of Day-break-Mouth-open in the Barnesville community were arrested from a garage owned and operated by the alleged suspects on the Gardnerville Estate Road.

Preliminary investigation has established that the deceased was allegedly mobbed by angry crowd which resulted to his demise when Yakuba Sheriff’s garage security guards raised alarm thereby referring to the deceased as thief.

According to the police, the remains of the deceased has been deposited at the JFK morgue for preservation while the suspects have been charged with Murder and Criminal conspiracy pending court prosecution.

Meanwhile, a 29-year-old resident of Johnsonville identified as Patience Paye is undergoing investigation in Kakata, Margibi County for allegedly attempting to sell her 7-year-old step son identified as Jacob Kamara for the amount of fifteen thousand United States dollars.
