Lawyers say Pres Weah committed to upholding rule of law in Liberia

President George Manneh Weah has been hailed by Liberian lawyers for his continued engagements with the Judiciary and described his action as a sign of commitment to upholding the rule of law in the country.

At the celebrations marking the Law Day at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia, Chief Justice Francis S. Korkpor said President Weah’s administration has demonstrated the will power to work with the Justice Sector of Liberia.

Chief Justice Korkpor expressed his conviction of the government’s support through President Weah to the Legal Sector of Liberia so as to dispense justice equally to Liberians in every part of the country.

The Chief Justice of Liberia applauded President Weah for his commitment in attending every function of the Judicial Branch of Government, referencing the opening of the 11th Judicial Circuit Court in Bomi County including several others.

Also speaking, the President of the Liberia National Bar Association (LNBA) Cllr. Moses Paegar lauded the Liberian leader and said although without official invitation, President Weah expressed his desire to form part of the International Law Day celebration, a position he applauded. According to him, it was the first time a sitting President has attended such occasion.

On Friday, the 4th of May, 2018 President Weah joined Liberian lawyers and the Liberia National Bar Association (LNBA) in Monrovia to celebrate International Law Day.

Earlier that day, President Weah launched a clean-up campaign exercise on the grounds of the Executive Mansion to give it a descent facelift.
