ZWEDRU, Liberia- A Liberian clergyman has warned that the shedding of innocent blood brings curse unto a society.

Rev. Richard Gbarduo said shedding of innocent blood and harmful traditional practices are increasing in the county.

He was speaking recently here in the southeastern Grand Gedeh County in the wake of the mysterious disappearance of a local Magistrate of the National Elections Commission (NEC), Alfred Tailey Dunner, who has been missing for many weeks now.

Rev. Gbarduo, who is Pastor of Assembly of God Church in Zwedru, explained that tradition is not intended for profit making, but it is meant for peace and stability.

Speaking on the Agape Hour program on Smile FM this week, the Grand Gedeh County Christian Council leader said that traditional laws must not contradict the civil laws.

Rev. Gbarduo also expressed serious concern over the rise in mob violence incidents in Grand Gedeh and Liberia, something he said is endangering lives and creating fear.

The Liberian clergyman said this is spoiling the image of Grand Gedeh County and he called on citizens involved in such activities to stop.

Meanwhile, as the search for Dunner continues so far unsuccessfully, the County Attorney of Grand Gedeh County has informed state Radio, ELBC that four persons have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of the NEC Magistrate.
