BARRABO, Maryland, Liberia- Massive search is underway in the  southeastern district of Barraba, Maryland County for a 50-year-old man who went missing in the wake of the just-ended Special Senatorial Elections in that county.

The missing man, Basby Welleh, was District Coordinator for defeated senatorial candidate Dr. Worlor E. Torpor, who is also Dean of the College of Agriculture and Food Science at the Tubman University. The Barrabo area is 16,700 kilometers from Monrovia.

On the evening he went missing on December 8, 2020, Mr. Welleh was said to have been busy monitoring the poll results and coordinating the activities their representatives at precincts within his assigned district shuttling from one town and village to the other.

Community members, who launched a massive search for Welleh of the Grebo ethnic group, are yet to find him.

Tales of people going missing are not too uncommon in this part of Liberia.

It can be recalled that a school teacher went missing in the same area in 2018, and was later discovered dead.
