TEMPLE OF JUSTICE, Monrovia- After a rigorous search by the Liberia Medical and Dental and Council in collaboration with the Justice Ministry, Police in Monrovia have arrested, investigated and charged Abraham Kamara, a fake medical doctor with the crimes of Negligence homicide, recklessly endangering another person and for impersonating as medical doctor.
The alleged action of defendant Kamara is In violation of Chapters 14; Section 14.3 and section 14.23 and Chapter 12; Section 12.35 of the revised Penal code of the Republic of Liberia, the defendant Abraham Kamara was arrested, informed of his constitutional rights, investigated and subsequently charged with the crimes: Negligent Homicide, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and for Impersonating as a Medical Doctor (Surgeon) and thereby causing the death of victim Dorcas Vondeh by carrying out an unauthorized, unsupervised, and unsafe medical procedure (surgery) of victim Dorcas Vondeh at his Clinic known as the ABC Clinic located at the Aluminum Factory Community, along the Japan Freeway at about 3:00 P/M on Sunday, March 16, 2025.
During police investigation conducted, it was uncovered that Madam Dorcas Vondeh age 39 and Nmah L. Bropleh had an intimate relationship and were cohabitating. It was also acknowledged that the victim/deceased Dorcas Vondeh, was diagnosed to suffer Fibroid sometime in March 2025 at the Redemption hospital.
Predicated upon said diagnosis, the victim’s fiancé, Mr. Bropleh made available the amount of $400.00USD a surgery which was inevitable for her survival, but to be conducted at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center, but instead, the victim convinced her fiancé that she was going to undergo the procedure in Buchanan under the supervision of her brother (to be identified) who she claimed was a doctor.
Victim/deceased Dorcas Vondeh on the other hand went to the ABC Clinic accompany by a family/friend to be identified and met with defendant Abraham Kamara a license Physician Assistant who was purporting to be a Medical Doctor and went into an agreement to have him do the surgery to have the fibroid extracted.
Accordingly, she underwent treatment for three days and on the third day the procedure was conducted at the ABC Clinic situated in the Aluminum Factory Community, along the Japan Freeway.
The police charge sheet said, while undergoing the procedure, complication was experienced and the victim/deceased went unconscious and subsequently met her demise, when she was pronounced Dead Before Arrival at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center.
Investigative finding
Predicated upon the investigation conducted the following findings were established to wit:
That; the crimes of Negligent Homicide, Reckless Endangering of another person, and Impersonation actually occurred.
That; defendant Abraham Kamara, who happens to be the proprietor of a chain of ABC Clinics located in Monrovia, Kakata, and Lofa County is a license Physician Assistant and not a Medical Doctor as he had been purporting.
That; the ABC Clinic, a facility which is owned by defendant Abraham Kamara does not meet the standards for the conduct of procedures such as major surgeries.
That; defendant Abraham Kamara, is noted of conducting procedures at the facility at the Aluminum Factory Community where he has an Operating Room for the conduct of such illegal procedures.
Several operational (medical) equipment were seized from the facility by the Liberia Medical and Dental Council, where defendant Abraham. Kamara has been recklessly endangering the life of many who had been undergoing medical procedures at said facility.
That; the victim/deceased experienced complications during the procedure because there was no blood available to provide to the victim who was urgently in need of blood transfusion but was lacking due to the substandard of the clinic.
That; defendant Abraham Kamara declined to exhibit the medical chart for the victim/deceased Dorcas Vondeh, on grounds that his facility was vandalized by the victim’s flancé, Mr. Nmah L. Bropleh who went at the facility at about 7:00 P/M with some security personnel to have him arrested, but later vandalized the facility when he declined to be arrested or go along with them.
That; defendant Abraham Kamara actions also contravenes Chapter 30; Section 30.1 of the Public Health Law which regards License Requirements for the Health Practitioners and Health Facilities
Conclusion
In view of the facts and circumstances gathered during the investigation, this investigation has resolved to charge the accused, defendant Abraham Kamara with the offenses of Negligent Homicide, Reckless Endangering of Another Person and Impersonation, in violation of Chapter 14; Subchapters 14.3 and 14.23 and Chapter 12; Section 12.35 of the revised Penal Code of the Republic of Liberia and have him forwarded to court for adjudication.
