Over 1,800 Tubman University Students Resume New Semester In Harper

HARPER, Liberia- Speaking at the 12th opening convocation of the William VS Tubman University (TU) in Harper, Maryland County, Rev. Ernest T. Johnson, Director of Counseling and Health Services, urged  the students to be careful of the decisions that they will make.

He spoke on the theme: Welcome to Tubman University, A place of positive transformation.

“Pay keen attention to your studies and if you are to take more courses, it is incumbent upon you to go the extra mile by studying harder to make a successful pass,” Rev. Johnson told the students.

William V.S. Tubman University is the second state-owned university in Liberia and the only highest institution of learning in the southeastern region of this country.

Rev. Johnson at the same time encouraged his colleagues to see their students as their own void of intimidation in order for them to have better performance and great results.

For their part, the newly inducted students of TU vowed to obey and abide by all of the rules and regulations of this University, in order for them to strive for higher academic standards.

”We are grateful  to join this family from diverse backgrounds, we( students) uphold to the idea of carrying accessible community characterized by excellence integrity, civility, and ethics, we, however, pledged to maintain the culture of diversity and the promotion of equal opportunity,” the TU  students assured the gathering.

The 12th opening convocation ceremony serves as a formal commemoration of a milestone and one of the most important days in the life of many university students.

Among other things, TU seek to provide quality educational experiences that transform the lives of individuals for worthy service.
The new academic school year and or semester according to the records have approximately one thousand eight hundred (1,800) students.

The program which marked the official opening of 2021/2022 semester one brought together Vice Presidents, Deans, and Charis of Various Colleges, Directors, Teaching Staff, Officers, and members of the Alumni Association, Maryland County Education Officer, Local Authority of Maryland including the general students body. There are over 1500 new transferred and new students in attendance.
