“Reduce Poverty By Investing In Early Childhood Education”

The President and Founder of a non-governmental organization named, the Jonahsa Foundation Incorporated, Mr. Jonah Barcon has disclosed plan for the distribution of school items to several schools going kids in the Country.

Speaking to local Journalists from the United States via mobile phone over the weekend, Mr. Barcon named test books, copy books, book-bags, pencils among others as items expected to be distributed by his Foundation to Primary schools in Montserrado and Grand Bassa Counties respectively.

The Liberian Humanitarian based in the US said the initiative is intended to adequately educate and help parents who cannot afford to provide for their school going kids in Liberia.

Mr. Barcon explained that in order to reduce poverty for a productive and prosperous nation, there is a need for massive investment in grassroots education, particularly in Liberian students, something he said cannot be overemphasized.

The Founder of the non-governmental Jonahsa Foundation Incorporated seized the moment to applaud supporters and donors of the Foundation, noting that their investments in Liberian students through the Foundation play a pivotal role in the growth and development of the country.

The non-for profit organization’s President stressed that his aim is to educate, organize, and mobilize educators to support needed grassroots students and communities for the future of Liberia.

The US-based Liberian philanthropic  narrated that , the scars   of the 14-years of civil  war in Liberia  remains  a major driving force  toward the high rate  of non-school  going  children and poverty in the country .

Mr. Barcon is calling on other well-meaning Liberians and humanitarians to help support the cause of building the educational foundation of Liberian students from the grass root.

He at the same time revealed that the foundation is in full gear to open a primary grass root school for school-age kids in Paynesville before 2022 in Liberia.
