In the 2023-2024 National County Sports Meet (NCSM) Rachel Griffin has set record of becoming the first player in the competition to secure a home run for Lofa County in Group D.
Liberia’s most traditional sports kickball displayed on Wednesday, 17 April in Kakata, Margibi County one of the venue for this year’s edition of the country’s most traditional sporting festival, the National County Sports Meet.
It was a heartbreaking for Margibi County as Lofa County secured a narrow 1-0 home run on Wednesday, 17 April at the opened-air Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata.
Former Quincy KC and Bong County player, Rachel Griffin’s beautiful strike in the third inning of the highly comparative match saw Godgift James lone home run secured Lofa County a 1-0 lead against Margibi County.
Back from the cooling break after Lofa County won 1-0 halftime from Rachel Griffin strike which saw the second league top-tier player Godgift James of Blue Eagle getting the home run , Margibi County puts out a chase, but with good defensive work from Lofa County and Vera Francis who was excellent in the picther box saw Lofa County grabbing a 1-0 win against Margibi County to end the full time of the match.
The win for Lofa County against Margibi County marks the first in the competition while on the other hand it marks the first defeat for Margibi County in the competition.
James who plays for second division top tier club Blue Eagle in the second top-tier league of the Liberia Kickball Federation lone run in third inning for Lofa County sealed Lofa County a 1-0 win against host Margibi County.

The second league club Blue Eagles player James lone run in her teams win against Margibi County makes her the first player in the competition to reach a home in Group D in the kickball version which comprises of host Margibi,Grand Bassa and Lofa Counties.
In the group opening fixture on Sunday,14 April at the same venue host Margibi County and Grand Bassa County played to a scoreless home run.
As it stands in Group D the regining champions Lofa County sits on top of the group with 3pts while Grand Bassa County sits second place with 1 point.
