(Last Updated On: )

As if their continuing struggle to fend off discrimination was not enough, Albino students in school have been put out due to lack of tuition.

The Executive Director of the Liberia Albino Society has called on the government to pay serious attention to the organization, in order to cater to people albinism in the country.

Patricia Logan said the organization is currently cash strapped, and most of the Albino students have been thrown out of classes, while employees of the society are experiencing hardship.

Mrs. Logan made the call when she distributed several gifts and food to Albinos and commissioned two vehicles that were recently donated to the society by partners in Monrovia over the weekend.

She also disclosed that the Albino Clinic in Bensenville was severely hit when armed robbers stormed the facility, making away with large quantity of medicines and money as well as equipment.

Logan appealed for security protection for the clinic and stressed the need to step up security patrols in the area to avoid a repeat of such incident.

Also speaking at the program ,the Deputy Director General at the Renaissance Communications Incorporated (RCI), Abraham Wheon, cautioned Albinos not to feel inferior because of their condition.

At the end of the programs, several items including book bags, copy books, bicycles and toys were distributed among children with Albinism.
