Rape in Liberia has become a sport for most men, as two more girls, ages 14 and 15 years, have again become victims of this menace in the western Grand Cape Mount County.

The latest cases reportedly happened last Sunday on Liberia’s July 26, 2020 Independent Day.

According to the 15-year-old rape survivor, on the night of July 26, the alleged perpetrator identified Hajii Kemokai, an adult took her to his room in the town of Moibaya, Tewor Dist, Cape Mt and sexually abused her in the name of giving her ‘26.

The alleged perpetrator escaped that night to an unknown destination and he has not been arrested up to date but the survivor parents reported the matter to the Women and Children Protection section of the Liberian National Police.

Usually, during a festive holiday, men can promise children gifts and it was in this regard that 15-year-old minor took advantage of the little girl by forcing her into sex, threatening her and later fleeing the area.

Earlier on July 21, 2020, another 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped in the same county by a man believed to be 19 years old identified as Momo Sambolah.

Both the survivor and the suspect were at a community program from where she was forced into his room and allegedly raped her.

Parents of this survivor later reported the act the Women and children Protection section of the LNP.

Officers of the LNP went to arrest the alleged perpetrator, but his father hide him and told the officers that  his son had gone to Monrovia.

Police are now in hot pursuit of the two rape suspect, while the two survivors are being treated.
