Go Ye Ministries Liberia USA of Dr. Lincoln Brownell has completed a virtual in-service training in Salala, Bong County for 200 rural teachers.

The training, which took place March 12 & 13, 2021, bridged the gap caused by the COVID-19 pandemic that prevented experienced USA teachers and missionaries coming to Liberia for study tour.  A mixture of the USA based teachers and top notched Liberian teachers from the University of Liberia delivered diverse topics in contemporary education, capable of making rural teachers more efficient in the classroom.

Topics covered included the Ministry of Education Policy by University of Liberia’s Lecturer Arthur Crusoe; Differentiated Instructions by Dr. Marshalita Sims Peterson, an American Curriculum & Instruction Expert; AME University Dean of Education, Dr. Augurie Stevens and Mr. Samuel V. Reeves of RAFIKI Foundation  on Marshall Road, Margibi County, who treated the topic Lesson Planning. Other core topics covered were: Mental Health by Mr. Adam M. Kyne of the A.M. Kyne Collegiate Resource Center, Pamela Garvey among others.

The Go Ye Ministries Teacher’s Workshop Coordinator, Mr. Arthur Crusoe described the training effective and successful; “giving the fact that the teachers’ desire to learn was met and they have proven an overwhelming feedback from the training”.

Mr. Crusoe emphasized the need for a mobile teacher’s training program for rural teachers who find it hard to leave their family and save income for college education in urban communities. He said Go Ye Ministries is considering operating a robust mobile teacher’s training exercises that step up quality performance of teachers in rural schools.

Until COVID-19, Go Ye Ministries led a team of educators to annual training ventures affecting in-service teachers mostly in rural parts of Liberia.   Its partner, New Life Church in Decatur, GA, USA supports teacher’s education as an approach to brighten the future of Liberian children through quality education, Go Ye Ministries said.
