2023 Election Fewer Increasing In Liberia’s Central Bong County

Liberia’s pending October 2023 presidential and legislative elections are well over one year away, but the political fever seems to be increasing by the day, with aspirant coming to the fold and incumbent on their reelection bids.

In the central Bong County ahead of 2023, citizens of Gbogbo-Ta and its surrounding Towns and Villages in Sanoyea District have endorsed the candidacy of Representative Joseph Papa Kolleh.

Rep. Kolleh, who was elected during the 2017 general and presidential elections to represent District #7 (combined Fuamah and Sanoyea Districts), is seeking re-election.

Earlier, the Lawmaker has rallied the support of his citizens for a second term mandate.

The Lawmaker told the citizens that he needs a second term mandate in order to do additional work for their benefit.

Rep. Kolleh said that if elected comes 2023, he will among other things further steps up the sponsoring of students for higher education.

Reading the endorsement statement on behalf of the citizens in Gbogbo-Ta over the weekend, a man only identified as George said the citizens’ decision to endorse the candidacy of the Lawmaker was triggered by his numerous development initiatives coupled with his outstanding performance he has shown forth in the District.

George named some of the Lawmaker’s development initiatives that prompted the citizens’ decision as the construction of the Borlorla Town Hall, Gbamokollie-Ta Youth Center, Kerkulah Giddings High School Library, Gbonogalai Clinic, ongoing renovation of the Sanoyea Town Hall, the rehabilitation of farm to market roads and the recently dedicated Gbogbo-Ta Youth Center among several others.

In addition, the citizens through their spokesperson said their call for the representative to contest this coming elections is because he is a unifier, one who breaches division.

In the endorsement statement, the citizens explained that Rep. Kolleh is the only person they are counting on to take to them the vision of progress.

The citizens mentioned that their Lawmaker understands the development circle of Sanoyea District indicating that he has devoted positive amount of time and effort working with them.

“It is because of your rapid growth we are here today to witness this remarkable occasion. Our leader, Hon. Joseph Papa Kolleh, you are an experience public servant that has the vision of insight to make the difference in the next years to come,” the citizens said.

They indicated that over the past four years the people of Gbogbo-Ta and its surroundings have had the opportunity to observe the agenda of those who want to contest in the district comes 2023.

The citizens averred that the Lawmaker’s willingness to examine issues and listen to the concerns of his people sets him far apart from the other aspirants wanting to represent the district at the House of Representatives.

“It is clear to us that you are the only candidate that is capable and ready to lead district #7, Bong County. With the above herein, we the people of Gbogbo-Ta and its surrounding on today date expressed our support for your campaign, re-election and intention to vote for you in the upcoming 2023 election” the citizens expressed.

The citizens thanked the Representative for his effort, improvement and development of the lives of the people of the District.

In a another development, the Manifest Newspaper has bestowed honor upon the Bong County Representative in recognition of what the Paper termed as his ‘effective and robust role exercised’ in District#7, Bong County and Liberia

The managing editor and publisher of the Newspaper, Edward B. Palmer bestowing the honor upon Mr. Kolleh said the presentation was in line with the Paper’s special publication of the President’s annual message wherein an investigation or research was done and a panel was able to select Hon. Kolleh as the Lawmaker of Bong County for the year 2021/2022.

Palmer intoned that through the hard work of the Lawmaker, he has scored “B” successively.

He added that the Representative has tangible development in the District referencing the Gbogbo-Ta youth center as one of those tangibles.

Meanwhile, Rep. Joseph Papa Kolleh has dedicated a youth center valued at a little over five thousand two hundred United States dollars containing a set of DSTV in Gbogbo-Ta, Sanoyea District.

Rep. Kolleh speaking during the dedicatory ceremony over the weekend, said the project is in fulfilment of his campaign promise made to the youths of  Gbogbo-Ta and the district at large in 2017.

The Bong Lawmaker disclosed that the project is a continuation of his district development agenda.

Responding also to the citizens’ endorsement statement, Rep. Kolleh assured them that he will officially respond at an elaborate program in the soonest possible time following a consultation.

Representative Kolleh on the other hand extended appreciation to the management of the Manifest Newspaper and at the same time promised to work in the interest of the citizens.
