4 Children Hit By Lightning Strike In Liberia’s Grand Cape Mount County

Reports from Liberia’s western Grand Cape Mount County say four children have been hit and injured by lightning strikes in two locations.

The situation happened in Tewor District.

The ages of the affected children range from 12-14 and the lightning strikes occurred on Sunday evening, November 24, 2021.

One report says two of the children were escorting their friend to the hand pump to fetch water when the Lighting struck and hit a coconut tree that the three of them had just reached.

At the same time, another 13-year-old boy was also hit after he left his room and he was sitting in front of his house, when the lightning struck a palm tree over the house with two small rooms.

They were rushed to the Jenewomde clinic in Grand Cape Mount County.

One of the children, 12-year-old Abraham Sama was more serious than the others.
