Liberian-American Missionary Donates Supplies To Buchanan Gov’t Hospital

BUCHANAN, Liberia-  A  Liberian American Missionary,  Madam Joyce Raynes Ogunti has donated a huge consignment of medical supplies to the only referral government Hospital in this port city in Grand Bassa County, as part of her initial contributions toward the fight against Covid-19.

The Items, which were donated on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, include much needed medical equipment, assorted drugs, and sanitary items to the health facility.

This is in continuation of Madam Ogunti’ ongoing effort to help the government fight the killer virus that has claimed more lives and hospitalized several citizens across the country.

Madam Ogunti made the donation in the presence of the Hospital’s  administration and scores of Health workers who received the medical supplies intended for this public health facility. The hospital is providing advanced health care delivery services to patients from Sinoe, Rivercess, and Grand Bassa Counties.

Presenting the items on behalf of her family, partners, and church, Madam Ogunti noted that she and her team of workers decided to reach out and contribute  these medical consignments to help stimulate the quick response of health care workers in rendering  the necessary health care delivery services to  patients far and near..

She expressed concern about the health condition of the suffering population, and said this is why her group decided to intervene by importing about forty feet container full of medical supplies to be distributed among all government hospitals throughout Liberia.

She named the John F. Kennedy (JFK) Hospital, Redemption hospital and other health facilities in Montserrado, Grand Bassa , Nimba, Rivercess, Bomi and Grand Cape Mount Counties that have benefited directly from her huge gesture to humanity.

Madam Ogunti stressed that it is important for the health facility to have the necessary equipment and committed staff to help enhanced treatment technique for citizens, noting that her contributions to Liberia’s struggling health sector is done on a yearly basis to help boost the sector.

“My husband and I were blessed, we got some of those medical supplies from other people and what we too would put together and decided to make our contributions to all  public health facilities in Liberia. We want to thanked and appreciate all health care workers at different public hospitals for their good work and services rendered to our people amidst everything that is going on in this country. I always have this hospital at heart and whenever I received little thing, I try to bring it to help the health sector of my country,” Madam Ogunti said.

Madam Ogunti motivated health workers to remain focus and pledged her unending support to the health sector.

Receiving the medical items on behalf of the Liberian Government Hospital, Mr. Fatuma Jusu, Chief Administrator expressed gratitude and lauded  Madam Joyce Raynes Ogunti and her team for reaching out to them.

Mr. Jusu thanked the group for the timely intervention and pledged to use the supplies for the intended purpose.

According to him, he never expected such huge gesture from nongovernmental person, promising that they would be more robust in in discharging their duties.

He also called on Madam  Ogunti to convey their appreciation to her family, church and donors/partners and all those who contributed towards the process on behalf of the Liberian Government Hospital in Buchanan.
