PLEEBO, Liberia- Mother of a 7-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped by a man believed to be 33 here in the southeastern Maryland County, is appealing for support from First Lady Clar Weah and humanitarian organizations to get good medical treatment for the child.
The suspect, Robert Toe has since been arrested, investigated and incarcerated at the prison in neighbouring River Gee County.
According to family members, the kid was raped on June,24, 2022, after she left her school campus, while was lying down alone in the house when the perpetrator entered the room with her and tied her cloth to her mouth, then immediately began abusing her sexually.
After the incident, the family said when noticed that the little girl wasn’t talking, and so they immediately took her to hospital where the medical report confirmed that the little girl was raped.
This Reporter has gathered that the parents of the little rape survivor are taking her from Church to Church in this area, as they try to seek proper medical attention.
The Mother of the 7–year-old minor disclosed that for the past two months since she was sexually abused, her little daughter can hardly walk, despite spending some time at medical facilities both in Pleebo and Harper cities.
“I really want people to help me because since two months now my daughter condition is very bad, my people your please help me my daughter who used to work from place to place she’s no longer working again because of her poor health condition,” the mother of the little rape survivor explained to www.newspublictrust.com.
The parents of the raped child are making an urgent appeal to Liberia’s First Laday Lady, Mrs. Marie Weah of Liberia to kindly intervene to enable their child get proper treatment.
“Let me use this opportunity to call on the Wife of President George M.Weah to please help my daughter she’s actually finding it difficult since she was raped two months ago.
I feel life is going to off my only daughter, am hopeless, and doesn’t know what to do. Please my people I need your help, I have been suffering ever since. My daughter is suffering from poor health, please everyone help me she’s dying slowly as days passebye please I can’t keep this to my self alone, do not forsake me I have visited several health centers in Maryland County. The Survival Mother sorrowfully expressed,” the mother of the raped child continued.
“After the medical pronouncement in Maryland County that my daughter was raped, later she herself despite her deplorable condition explained to us how she was raped and even called the individual’s (perpetrator’s name) who did the act allegedly,” this news outlet was told.
Our Correspondent in Maryland County has gathered that the suspected rapist, Robert Toe who arrested and sent to the central prison in Fish Town, River Gee County prison, is expected to face court trial.
