GBARNGA, Liberia- The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has donated two brand new ambulances to the Heath Team of the central Bong County, 169 kilometers from Monrovia.

Presenting the ambulances here on Friday, November 6, 2020, Jusu Krpu of the Transport division of the Ministry of Health said they were donated by the World Bank.

He said the Ministry of Health decided to donate the two ambulances because over the past months, the Bong County Heath Team has been lacking ambulances in the County, something that has been obstructing operations and affecting the healthcare delivery system of the County.

He called on the Bong County Health Team administration to take care of the ambulances in the County.

“Your should please advise the drivers of these ambulances, because they are new, and when they are over speeding they made cause accident for the patient they made be carrying to the hospital,” Mr. Krpu stressed.

Taking delivery of the ambulances, Bong County Health Officer, Dr. Jonathan Flomo lauded the Ministry of Health for the donation.

He at the same time assured the Ministry that they will take good care of the vehicles donated.

Dr. Flomo said the ambulances donated will help to improve the healthcare delivery system of the County.

Also speaking, Bong County Health Team Administrator, Jonah N. Togbah commanded the Ministry of Health for the donation.

The Bong County Health Offer further said that the ambulances will help the nine (9) health Districts in Bong County, when it comes to reducing maternal motility rate in the County, including transporting pregnant women to the various health posts in the County.
