In a call for enhanced government oversight, Nuwoh Bailay, the Branch Manager of Jungle Mineral Water Company on Dupont Road has urged authorities to conduct regular visits and monitoring of mineral water production sites across Liberia.

In an interview this week (Wednesday) in the Paynesville suburb of Monrovia, Mr. Bailey emphasized that consistent testing of water quality would significantly mitigate the prevalence of substandard water in the market.

He highlighted the importance of monitoring not only water quality but also environmental conditions, noting that such measures would help protect public health from the dangers posed by unsafe drinking water.

Mr. Bailey called for action from key regulatory bodies, including the National Public Health Institute, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the WASH Commission, to enforce existing regulations effectively.

Jungle Mineral Water Company, which recently opened its Dupont Road branch, has quickly gained a reputation among local customers as one of the premier suppliers of plastic bag water in the area.

The company employs over forty staff members and boasts impressive production levels, with a daily output of 7,000 to 8,000 sachets of water.

Bailey expressed pride in the company’s production capabilities and its growing demand, asserting his vision to position Jungle Mineral Water as a leading supplier not just in Montserrado but across the nation.

Currently, the company services several communities, including Duport Road, GSA Road, Congo Town Peace Island, Rehab Community, Police Academy, ELWA junction, and A.B. Tolbert Road, among others.

Sachet water, a lightweight and affordable option for many Liberians, is sourced from boreholes or pipes and is subjected to industrial-grade filtration before being sealed in plastic bags.

Statistics indicate that Liberians consume an average of six packs of sachet water per person each day, underscoring the importance of maintaining high quality and safety standards in the industry.
