-Allegedly escapes with over US$50K

GBARNGA, Liberia- At the request of the Administration of the Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI), the Liberia National Police Bong County Detachment has launched a manhunt for the financial Comptroller of the institution for allegedly escaping with thousands of United States Dollars from a USAID-funded project and other projects.
Mr. Amara Enson Joe, the Comptroller of CARI, is alleged to have withdrawn the money from the institution’s account and is currently on the run. So far, he has not given any interview to Journalists or broken his silence.
Papa Morris, head of Communications at CARI writes: “The Administration of the Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI) is in search of its comptroller Mr. Enson Joe Amara for escaping with thousands of United States Dollars from a USAID funded project and other projects at the institution.”
Mr. Amara is believed to have crossed Liberia border with neighbouring Sierra Leone and wants to make his way to the U.S. Please contact the police in any country you find Mr. Amara. Please help us share this post”.
A 2019 graduate of the Cuttington University in Suakoko, Bong County, Mr. Amara holds a MBA degree in Finance and Accounting.
Mrs. Paulette Findley, the Officer-In-Charge at the Central Agriculture Institute (CARI) confirmed the development and said the institution remains committed in serving the people of Liberia with integrity and tranquility.
She stated that the incident involving its Comptroller will be appropriately handled in accordance with the law.
Officer Frederick Nappy, Liberia National Police Bong County Detachment Superintendent also confirmed the police manhunt.
“We have received a report from the administration of CARI and we will launch an investigation into the matter very soon. We take this issue very seriously and can assure the public that all those connected to this crime will be made to face the full weight of the law,” the Bong County Police official said.
According to the claims by the CARI management, Comptroller Enson Joe Amara made away with little over $50,000 United State Dollars from the account of CARI.
Meanwhile, several citizens of the County have described as embarrassing and disappointing the alleged behavior of comptroller Enson Joe Amara.
They believes that Amera alleged actions have the propensity to undermine the good image of CARI under its current leadership headed by Madam Findley.
They want a speedy trial in order to get to the bottom of the matter.
