Liberian Opposition Liberty Party (LP) presidential candidate Charles Brumskine is not only alleging fraud and irregularities in Tuesday’s polls, but has described the October 10 elections as “invalid”.
At a news conference in Monrovia on Friday, Brumskine says his party is demanding a rerun of the polls, and he said he has evidence to take up the case with Liberia’s Supreme Court.
He said the LP would shortly present its evidence to the National Elections Commission (NEC).
Brumskine, a career lawyer, has run for president twice in 2015 and 2011 but has lost on both occasions.
In the latest provisional results of Tuesday’s elections being released by NEC, the LP leader is trailing.
Meanwhile, Brumskine has told his supporters to remain calm.
