The national executive committee of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) has extended an olive branch to all its renegade members who left the party some time ago.

After its decisive win in the just-ended presidential runoff election, the CDC wants all of its former members to return home.

In the run up to the 2017 elections a number of top guns in the main opposition CDC defected and joined the ruling Unity Party (UP) and other opposition political parties.

Prominent among them is Senator Geraldine Doe Sheriff, Information Minister Lenn Eugene Nagbe, lawyer Kanio Gbai Gballah, among others.

But Acarious Gray, CDC Secretary General Emeritus of the CDC and a re-elected Representative of Montserrado County disclosed that the party’s Standard Bearer George Weah and executive committee members took the decision to embrace runaway members just before the December 26 runoff.

Rep. Gray told www.newspublictrust.com that President-elect George Weah does not keep malice in his heart for anyone.

And he said the CDC leader is a man of peace who is still friend with people who have lambasted him and the CDC.

As evident of this, Senator Weah now President elect still maintains good relations with several personalities who have turned their backs on the CDC over the years, Gray said.

The CDC’s Secretary General Emeritus made it clear that the Liberian President-elect does not entertain gossips, back-biting and rumour mongers.

The Montserrado County D-8 Representative described the Standard Bearer as “a man who hates corruption and thief” as he has made it clear in his victory speech on Saturday.

According to him, Senator Weah has always predicted that he will one day become president of Liberia.
