By Haji Massaley

Popular Liberian Radio talk show host and an executive of Sky, T-Max Jlateh has complained of a ploy by some individuals in the Country to assassinate him and other Journalists in the Country.

Affectionately called “T-Max”, Mr. Jlateh is the Chief Financial Officer of SKY Communications, Incorporated owner of Sky FM and Sky TV on Broad Street in the Liberian capital, Monrovia.

There have been discovery of mysterious deaths in the Country over the past Months and the Talk Show Host fears that he could be killed without a trace of his killer.

The Liberian media executive recently said he had received strange mobile phone calls threatening his life and that of FrontpageAfrica’s Managing Editor, Mr. Rodney Sieh and the Publisher of the Hot Pepper newspaper, Mr. Philipbert Browne.

This grave allegation has prompted an investigation from the Government of Liberia to ascertain the truth behind what Broadcast Journalist T-Max Jlateh has alleged.

Deputy Information Minister for Public Affairs, Mr. Eugene Fahngon reading the Government’s statement at MICAT press briefing last Thursday April 4, 2019 said: such allegation warrants a speedy investigation and the Government is treating such seriously.

On his 50-50 Talk Show last Monday April 1, 2019, T-Max claimed that he and some individuals, including fellow Journalists, have been put on a death list for assassination, because of their critical stance on National Issues.

‘’A friend of mine called me and informed me that a sitting Senator had chaired a meeting to kill you,’’ he said.

He named Talk Show host on another radio station—Roots FM—Mr. Henry Costa as another person on the assassination list.

“I cannot say for fact that this is being sanctioned by the Government, but something tells me that there are always people who want to please the Government,’’ Mr. Jlateh narrated.
